The Corner of Knit & Tea: Episode 16, Going visiting.

Welcome back to Episode 16 and welcome to new viewers. This week my episode is a little different than usual – I’m traveling across the country and meeting up with some friends and recording from different places.  I get a little goofy with Kim and Sam of Come Knit With Us and their friend (and my tea-loving friend) Liz!

I also want to congratulate the winner of the 250 subscriber prize – Sarah Gautreaux.  Please email me at thestashbuckler at gmail dot com to let me know where to send your prize!

Please come and join the Ravelry group!

Drink Me: Adagio, Decaf Strawberry

Another tea I received from a friend was Decaf Strawberry from Adagio Teas.

From the website the blend contains: decaf Ceylon tea, strawberries and raspberry leaves.

It is available in the following sizes: sample for $2, 3oz for $8, 16oz for $29 and 15 teabags for $8.

When I first opened the package I smelled berries. Once brewed I think the tea smelled more like raspberry than strawberry which was a little disappointing to me.  I thought the tea tasted more like raspberries as well. It was a nice afternoon tea – a good black tea with a bit of a berry taste, but it wasn’t quite was I was looking for. However, if you love raspberries you might want to give this one a try!

Creative Hand

I’m taking a brief break from the usual Wednesday post to promote a local craft show where I’ll be selling my wares (handspun yarn and handspun, handknit mitten ornaments).

The Creative Hand Show & Sale is sponsored by the Kansas City Fiber and Weavers Guilds.

It features the work of 60+ artisans and showcases fiber arts, weaving, jewelry, pottery, soap, home decor and more.

Teaccessories: Pug Love

I don’t have any pets, but I was struck by how many cute pug mugs there are out there. Get one for your pug loving pal?

Pug Mug, Spinning Hat Playful Design, £7.99

Sad Pug Mug, Bread & Badger, $25.00

The Notorious P.U.G., Society 6, $15.00

Drink Me: Adagio Teas, Decaf Orange

Another sample I received from a friend is Adagio Teas Decaf Orange.

From the website, the blend contains decaf ceylon tea and orange peels.

Decaf Orange is available in the following sizes: sample for $2, 3oz for $8, 16oz for $29 and a set of 15 teabags for $8.

When I first opened the package I could smell the tangy orange peel.   One brewed, I could smell more of the ceylon tea however.   The taste was mostly the tea, with a hint of sweet orange. It was much more of a strong afternoon blend, than a sweet dessert tea, but I think it could complement cookies or biscuits nicely. And it has the added benefit of being a good decaffeinated blend for those of you looking to sip well into the evening!

Teaccessories: TV Mugs

If you’re like me, at the end of the day you brew yourself a nice cuppa and sit down to relax in front of the TV.  Here are a few mugs that might help you enjoy your sipping and watching a bit more:

Los Pollos Hermanos mug (Breaking Bad), Society6, $15.00

Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Joss Whedon Mutant Enemy Mug, A Bird in the Hand, $15.00

True Blood Mug, Maid of Clay Ceramics, $32.00
