Friday Five

1. New LYS. This past weekend I went over to YarnSocial – the newest yarn store in Kansas City. My friend Christine of Treasure Goddess Yarn, was hosting a trunk show. The shop is super cute with two main rooms. The first is full of gorgeous yarns, floor to ceiling. I’m really impressed at the variety of yarn brands, weights, and offerings in this store and I’m excited to do lots of shopping there. The second room is devoted to community and has chairs, a couch and a coffee table for cozy knitting.  I purchased a luscious skein of Treasure Goddess Treasured Toes in Blackberry Wine and a skein of Primose Plume in Crazy For You. I had a great time and I’m going to have to go back soon!

2. Make Nine. It’s the end of the year and I’m close to doing my end of year roundup. But everyone’s getting busy planning for 2019! So I decided to jump on the bandwagon and put together nine projects I’d love to knit in 2019.

They are from Left to Right: Partying it UP and Getting DOWN socks by Megan Williams, Boxy by Joji Locatelli, Nightshift by Andrea Mowry, Chevron Love Slouch by Julia Vesper, Sizzle POP by Lesley Anne Robinson, Powell by Meghan Kelly, Stockholm by Julie Crawford, Coffee Talk by Traci Millars and Dust of Snow by Helen Stewart.

3. In my mug. At this time of year I’m all about the Christmas teas and my absolute favorite is Republic of Tea’s Downton Abbey Christmas Tea. Full of spices and warmth, this tea is sure to delight. I always enjoy it in my World Plus Market Black Friday Downton mug! You may be able to snag on on eBay these days!

4. Spinning Presents. My new boss spoiled me this year and I was thrilled to find a Spinning Box in my mailbox this week! I can’t wait to dig in to all it has to offer – if you have a spinner in your life, I’d recommend you check this out.

5. Last minute holiday crafting. Are you crafting up a storm for the holidays? I swore I was only going to knit for myself this month, but then I remembered that I stashed 10 of these adorable sheep somewhere and they need handspun sweaters and to be put on trees. Now where did I put them???
