I am a technical editor of knitting patterns and I am always eager to work with new clients!

What services can I provide?

• I can check your patterns top to bottom to ensure that your instructions are clear and understandable, well-written and free from grammatical and spelling errors.
• I can check your arithmetic to ensure that all numbers in the pattern from cast-on to bind off to gauge are accurate.
• I can help you create schematics and charts for your patterns.
• I can help you develop a style sheet, or ensure that whatever style sheet you choose to use is applied consistently throughout your patterns.

I will give you thorough feedback including any notes on your pattern and the spreadsheets I use to check your numbers, gauge and sizing.

I charge an hourly rate for technical editing services with a minimum of 1 hour, and 1/4 hour increments thereafter. Typically, simple accessories will require an hour or less whereas more complex patterns like sweaters or lace shawls will require 2-4 hours of editing time. I will happily provide a free estimate before I start work.
