Knit Night: Socks and sweaters oh my!

So since we last spoke, I finished my first pair of socks for the summer season (the summer season of knitting socks that is, I won’t wear them until the fall!)  These are some plain vanilla socks in Northbound Knitting Merino/Nylon Superwash Fingering in Rumpus and Oleander. I’m calling them my Rumpus socks and I love them.  I also have a pair already on the needles for Roxy.

Next up on my needles, I’m picking up a languishing WIP: my Hitofude Cardigan by Hiroko FukatsuWollmeise Lacegarn in Petit Poison No. 5.  When I last left off I had just finished the sleeves, so now I’m about to work on the lacy body of the sweater.

I’m hoping to finish my Hitofude by the end of June and start July with fresh needles. Up next I’m going to do an informal Christmas in July knit-along. I always buy skeins of Christmas yarn to make holiday socks, and then December rolls around and in the rush of gift knitting I never get to knit myself those holiday socks. So this year I’m going to knit my pair in July so they’ll be ready to go for this year’s holidays. This year’s pair will be knit out of Leading Men Fiber Arts Show Stealer in O Christmas Tree.

Finally, I saw a summer sweater that I fell in love with this week and I ordered yarn to make my own. The sweater is Pismo Beach Pullover by Amanda Scheuzger, but the project that made me fall in love with it is this beautiful version by Ravelry user Klwilla. The yarn has arrived already and I’m ready to cast on as soon as Hitofude is done!
